TASMANIAN CLIMATE CHANGE STORIES

All stores uploaded must adhere to the following terms and conditions.
Any story which breaks one of the terms or conditions will be disqualified from the competition and removed from our archive.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The Promoter of this competition is Sustainability Learning Centre, Hobart College in partnership with NFP Climate Action Hobart.
2. The competition is open to Tasmanian School Aged students from K-12
3. Entry into TCCS competition is done online through the website www.tasmanianclimatestories before 5pm on 3rd November 2017
4. No entries will be considered after closing date or if not in accord with rules and conditions.
5. All entries will be screened for suitability before being made public.
6. Individual stories must not be longer than 90 seconds and should be eligible to be considered for Tasmanian Climate Change Stories competition.
7. Class entries must be between 4-8 minutes and address the questions raised on the website.
8. Students also wishing to enter their climate change stories video to MyState Student Film Festival 2017 as a documentary must make two separate entries to each competition and abide by their respective conditions. The onus is on the student/teacher to let TCCS know clearly by marking on their entry that they have entered in both so TCCS don’t make their video live until after the conclusion of judging of MyState awards.
9. The promoter is not responsible for any delayed, lost or misdirected communications
10. Valid entries include the submission of the film file and the completed online entry form.
11. Entries must be submitted in one of the following file formats, and be a maximum of 300MB in size: MOV AVI WMV FLV MPEGPS MPEG4 MP4 3GPP WebM
12. Each film entry (i.e. file) submitted must be named in the following format:
School name_Teacher/Lead Filmmaker_Name_Film Title_Entry Age_Category

13. Students/Schools may submit as many entries as they wish.
14. The 2017 categories are: Individual and Class; Junior Category (Kindergarten to Year 3), Intermediate Category (Year 4 to Year 6), High School Category (Year 7 to Year 10), College (Years 11-12).
15. All entries must adhere to the PG Rating (Parental Guidance) as set out in the Guidelines for the Classification of Films (2012) - Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Act 1995. The Guidelines are publicly available at the Australian Classification Board website (www.classification.gov.au).
16. Films that do not comply with the PG Classification Guidelines will not be deemed as valid entries and therefore will not be made public or judged in the TCCS competition.
17. All necessary permissions, authorities and licences must be obtained for the use of equipment (such as vehicles, machinery, firearms and chemicals) as props during film making. TCCS is not responsible for seeking or obtaining proof for such authorities for the purpose of judging, distributing, or presenting films entered into the competition
18. In relation to copyright in all visual materials and music, all necessary permissions, authorities, licences, consents, releases and waivers from third parties who own the third party material and intellectual property therein must be obtained by the entrant and submitted with the entry via the online entry submission page. Obtaining these permissions, authorities, licences, consents, releases and waivers is not the responsibility of The Promoters.
19. The Promoters will not accept responsibility for consequences arising from films screened without copyright in all visual materials and music, all necessary permissions, authorities, licences, consents, releases and waivers; such consequences will be passed over to the filmmakers and/or School.
20. The Judging Panel and Promoters hold the authority to determine the winning entries. No dispute will be entered into the Judging Panel and Promoters final decision.
21. The prizes for the winning Climate Story in the Junior, Intermediate, High School and College categories will be awarded by presentation prior to December 1st 2017. See prizes/categories.
22. Award Winners agree to participate in any publicity for the awards as well as other promotional events if required.
23. The Promoter reserves the right to use the entries for any purpose they choose. Films may be screened to the public in various capacities including on mystate.com.au, YouTube, television, public film screenings and other channels. The Promoter reserves the right to screen the films without seeking additional permission from entrants.
24. The Promoter will not provide payment to any entrant for the public or private screening of films entered into the competition.
25. Entry to the Competition is not a guarantee that the material will be made public on the TCCS website
26. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter is not liable and does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained by any participant. For clarification, a participant means anyone involved in the making of the film.
